A sister’s suicide, a son’s fatal heroin overdose, a deadly car-train collision, and hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, are all personal experiences that led to the publication of the four mystery-suspense novels written by John DeDakis. To show how real life influences fiction, he will also trace the arc of his nearly 45-year journalism career — from getting tear gassed covering an anti-Vietnam War riot in 1970 to his former job as a Senior Copy Editor on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.”
