Elaine English, an attorney and literary agent, will share tips on what every author needs to know about literary agents. As a retired agent herself, she’ll discuss the process of acquiring and representing new authors from the insider’s perspective, and as an attorney, she’ll have some tips on what you need to know when you’re accepting a contract of representation. Bring your questions!
About the Presenter
Elaine English has practiced in Washington, DC as an attorney since 1985 and as a literary agent since 2001. She is moving away from agenting and is not taking on any new authors or projects. Her legal practice focuses on advising literary clients on contract matters as well as issues of copyright and privacy law. She graduated from The National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
