In-Session Critique & Refreshments
If you’ve been looking for a critique group, this is the perfect meeting for you! In December we will be critiquing each other’s work and learning how to set up our own critique groups, all while enjoying some light refreshments with our fellow writers.
To start the meeting, chapter programs chair Carolee Noury will give a brief presentation on helpful feedback, with handouts about critique and finding critique partners. We will then split into small critique groups.
If you would like to have your work critiqued, please bring 5 copies of a selection that is approximately 500 words. (Please make sure the sample ends at the end of a paragraph.) If you prefer not to have your work critiqued, please come out to offer your feedback to writers who do.
We will also be collecting contact information for any attendees looking for critique partners. Once that information is compiled, it will be shared with everyone interested so you may form your own critique partnerships and/or groups. If critique finishes early, we’ll have a chance for folks to share writing resources and questions in small groups.
We look forward to seeing you there!
