NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)
Find out how you can join writers across the nation as they produce 50,000-word novels during the 30 days of November.
MWA Montgomery board member Carl Rauscher will discuss writer support activities that take place each November when he presents “NaNoWriMo—National Novel Writing Month” at the October meeting of the MWA Montgomery County Chapter.
Mr. Rauscher’s presentation will cover the three basic elements that helped him “win” the NaNoWriMo contest three times, how to join the support activities online, how to find writing buddies, how to track your progress, and how to participate in NaNoWriMo local meetups.
About the Speaker
Carl Rauscher is the author of Reboot: A Post-Apocalyptic Tale of Hope.
When he was very young, his mother told him he could be anything he wanted and he’s tried hard to accomplish just that. He’s driven a nuclear submarine, hunted squirrel with a slingshot, ran his own business, got kicked out of a midnight showing of Rocky Horror, drove a truck while talking on a CB radio, had an intelligence officer show him the badge, sailed across Long Island Sound in a rented boat, ordered food in a foreign McDonald’s, rode on a firetruck in full gear with the sirens blaring, blew the engine of a car in the middle of nowhere, and appeared in a major motion picture (or at least his elbow did).
Despite his colorful history, Carl lives a fairly normal life in Maryland with his family and still find time to read books, write stories, and make others laugh.
